In Round 13 of Betfred League One, Goole Vikings pulled off a huge scalp as they defeated Midlands Hurricanes and banked their fourth win of the season.
The Hurricanes endured back-to-back league defeats for the first time in 2025, while Goole ensured back-to-back wins in Birmingham after a one-point victory.
A late Reece Dean drop goal sealed success for the Vikings on Sunday afternoon – after what had been a truly nail-biting contest.
Tom Halliday and Jack Arnold crossed over for the visitors, with Dean superb with the boot and once again proving to be the difference.
Midlands didn't make it easy for Goole, however, with Matty Chrimes and Luis Roberts crossing for the Canes.
But it wasn’t enough for the hosts who are currently chasing promotion to the Betfred Championship, as they drop points for the second week in a row.
Meanwhile, Goole enjoy an emphatic win in their inaugural League One season.
In West Yorkshire, Dewsbury responded to their defeat against Goole last weekend with a win over Whitehaven.
It was the Rams’ first win in their last six meetings with the Cumbrian side as they came from behind at the FLAIR Stadium.
A brace from Caelum Jordan and a match-winning effort from Matt Garside secured the two points.
On the opposite side of the Pennines, Swinton completed a league double over Keighley and kept in control for the full 80 minutes.
The Lions always led, and despite the Cougars coming close on numerous occasions, Jack Stevens was able to put the game of their reach when he intercepted a Keighley pass and touched down.
Finally, there were nine different try scorers in Workington’s ten-try haul against Newcastle.
This perfect performance sees Town climb to second in the table and just three points behind the league leaders, North Wales Crusaders.
Midlands, Swinton and Dewsbury make up the remainder of the top five.
